Lady Lions swept in three sets at King's College

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. - The Lady Lions (1-3, 0-0 PSUAC) traveled to King's College on Wednesday for their fourth non-conference match of the season. Hazleton competed well early in each of the three played sets, however faltered late in each set to fall to the Monarchs 3-0.

King's College set the pace on offense racking up 43 kills on the night with an efficient .355 hitting percentage. The Monarch's Alexas Swagler led the way with 11 kills in the match along with seven service aces. Elen O'donnell and Jessica Carr contributed nine kills each offensively and Emma Hanrahan distrubuted 22 assists to teammates.

The Lady Lions cleaned up their service game from their previous two matches, limiting their errors to just six total blemishes, but were unable to handle the power serving Monarch attack, tallying 13 errors while recieving serve. Hailey Trasacco (Hamden, Ct.) led the Lions offense with four kills on the evening, while Tina Beiland (Philadelphia, Pa.) added two kills, three assists and two service aces.

Next up: Hazleton will look to get back in the win column on Thursday when they travel to Central Penn College in Summerdale, Pa. First serve against the United States Collegiate Athletic Association opponent scheduled for 7:00 PM.
