DUNMORE, Pa. -- Penn State Hazleton Women's Volleyball suffered a 3-0 (14-25, 16-25, 7-25) defeat at the hands of Penn State Worthington Scranton in a Penn State University Athletic Conference match on Wednesday night. The loss drops Hazleton (1-18, 1-14 PSUAC) to 1-6 on the road this season.
The Nittany Lions offense struggled to get going, hitting -.667 and -.462 in the first and third sets, respectively. Overall, Scranton outhit Hazleton .268 to -.276 for their third conference win of the season, including two over the Nittany Lions.
Five Hazleton players recorded a kill, but errors allowed Scranton to pull away in each set. Kerri Jarnigan recorded 11 kills and 5 blocks for Scranton, both match-highs. Mar Tsakonas dished out 15 assists and added two service aces for Scranton.
Hazleton concludes their season at home on Sunday, October 12 as they host Penn State Brandywine at 2:00 p.m.
