Penn State Beaver 6, Penn State Hazleton 1

Both squads failed to produce runs in the first two innings until Beaver drew first blood in the top of the third. Brenna Cepull followed up with a double down the left field line for a fifth Beaver score, chasing Hazleton freshman Samantha Varela (Hazleton, Pa.) from the circle. The Lady Lions sat the next two hitters down, but for the second time in the game, Beaver's Sarah Foose picked up a key two-out hit single, capping a three run inning for Beaver and giving them a 6-0 advantage over the Lady Lions.

Down to their final three outs, Kayla Wirth broke up the shut out with a towering home run to left field to lead off the seventh inning, but Hazleton was unable to mount the comeback, falling to Beaver by the score of 6-1.
