Lady Lions help out at local charity
Danville, PA - The Lady Lions recently payed a visit to the Janet Weis Children's Hospital at Geisigner Medical Center in Danville, PA. The team raised funds and goods to donate to Kelsey's Dream Snack Pack Program in an effort to assist children in their fight against pediatric cancer.
Kelsey Kuhns passed away at the age of 12 after losing her second battle with lukemia. Her sister Kylie began the Kelsey's Dream progam in her sister's honor to help make kid's days a little brighter during their treament at the hospital. Kelsey always prepared for long hungry days of treatment by packing a backpack full of snacks and juice boxes the night before her appoinments. Medications and treatments often leaves kids very hungry with little access to snacks at vending machines, so the snack pack program became a way to offer a wide variety of goods to lift kid's spirits and encourage them to eat.
