Men's Basketball lands Hopkins and Pearce
Hazleton, Pa. - Penn State Hazleton Athletics is excited to announce the addition of two new student-athletes to the Nittany Lion Basketball in the fall of 2016. Robbie Hopkins of Mt. Top, Pa. and Logan Pearce of Centre Hall, Pa. have both signed on to play in the Hazleton backcourt next season.
Robbie Hopkins - The local area standout played all four years for the Comets of Crestwood High School running the offense from the point guard position. Hopkins averaged double digit points and five assists per game, landing first team all-conference honors in the Wyoming Valley Conference, a first team all-area nod by the Standard Speaker, and a first team all-star selection by opposing coaches in the conference. Hopkins is a National Business Honor Society student and an honor roll member at Crestwood High School.
Logan Pearce - The shooting guard earned three varsity letters at Penns Valley Area High School, leading the Rams to PIAA district playoff win 2016. Pearce averaged 15 points per game and 3.2 assists a night, and defensively pulled in 5.7 rebounds while swatting over two shots per game. In the off season, Pearce plays for the PA Warhawks AAU squad out of central Pennsylvania and is excited to join the Penn State family in the fall.
