Bio

In 2019, Amy Bessoir enters her second season at the helm of PSU Hazleton Volleyball. In her head coaching debut season in 2018, Bessoir lead the Lady Lions to a 13-3 conference record, ending the season with a playoff run into the PSUAC semifinals. Bessoir's first season produced a PSUAC Newcomer of the Year, three PSUAC All-Conference honorees, and two USCAA All-Americans. She hopes to bring her philosophy of developing character alongside ability to a new, young squad this year.

Bessoir served as assistant coach in 2017 before taking over the head coaching reins.

A native of the Scranton area, Bessoir grew up competing in volleyball, basketball, and swimming. After injury cut her playing days short, she continued pursuing her passion for athletics through mentorship and coaching. Bessoir also serves as a statistician for other sports at Penn State Hazleton.
